Central Valley Town, originally settled in 1874 along the Sevier River, was first named Inverury after a town in Scotland. Officially incorporated in 2005, it has grown from a small pioneer community of around 400 residents to approximately 650 residents and 250 homes today.
Over the years, the town has undergone several name changes, evolving from Inverury to Central and finally to Central Valley in 1988 to meet postal requirements. Central Valley Town combines a rich history with a close-knit community atmosphere, reflecting the spirit and resilience of its pioneer origins.
