Dr. Tashjian's primary clinical focus centers on all aspects of primary and revision shoulder and elbow surgery including labral tears, rotator cuff tears, arthritis and fractures including shoulder arthroplasty and post-reconstructive procedures. Dr. Tashjian’s primary research focuses include the biomechanics of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, the influence of hormone supplementation on rotator cuff healing and the genetics of rotator cuff disease. Dr. Tashjian is an Active Member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) and is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the ASES. Dr. Tashjian is the editor of the textbooks The Unstable Elbow and Complex and Revision Shoulder Arthroplasty. Dr. Tashjian is current a Deputy Editor for Shoulder and Elbow for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery American. Dr. Tashjian is currently the Division Chief for the Division of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and the Director of the Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship in the Department of Orthopaedics. Dr. Tashjian has co-directed the biannual internationally recognized Advanced Shoulder Arthroplasty (ASAP) Meeting in Snowbird, Utah since 2019.
