Ashwin K. Lal

Dr. Alvey received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. He completed his Pediatric residency at Primary Children’s Hospital/ University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Alvey is an experienced general pediatrician who practiced in the community for over 15 years prior to joining the Faculty at the University of Utah School of Medicine as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of General Pediatrics. He currently sees patients in the Comprehensive Care Program at Primary Children’s Medical Center and at University Pediatric Clinic (Clinic 6) at University Hospital. In those settings, Dr. Alvey sees a wide range of patients of all ages and health conditions. Dr. Alvey's clinical interests include providing primary care for children with complex medical problems, ADHD and asthma. His clinical interests also include sports medicine, care of athletes with underlying medical issues, and care of children with underlying genetic, metabolic, and neurological disorders.

Dr. Clements received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from the University of Colorado. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska and completed his fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at the University of Colorado and Children’s Hospital Colorado. He moved to Utah in 2013 and is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes at the University of Utah and Primary Children's Hospital. Dr. Clements’s main clinical interests include growth, puberty, thyroid, and type 1 diabetes. He also has experience with many rare endocrine disorders such as Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), and Prader-Willi syndrome.

Dr. Ostrander received her medical degree from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, completed her Pediatric residency at RUSH Medical Center and her Pediatric Neurology training at the University of Utah. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Utah and is in the Division of Pediatric Neurology at Primary Children’s Hospital. As the director of the Fetal and Neonatal Neurology Program, Dr. Ostrander focuses on the neurological care of infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with seizures, strokes, brain malformations, hydrocephalus and other neurological issues. She is also Medical Director of the Spina Bifida Clinic at Primary Children's Hospital which is the regional multidisciplinary clinic for infants, children and adolescents with neural tube defects.
