Boasting 167,000 square feet of floor space, this center was the largest academic building in the Mountain West and BYU's first to have an elevator. When the building was renovated from 1995 through 1997, it was completely gutted and its steep lecture halls removed. The building houses the Physics and Astronomy; Geology; and Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Science Departments, as well as the Pendulum Court restaurant. There are many hands-on physics demonstrations throughout the hallways and lobbies and a 16-inch telescope in the Orson Pratt Observatory.

The Neuroscience program at BYU, part of the College of Life Sciences, is one of the largest undergraduate neuroscience programs in the U.S., boasting a community of around 600 students dedicated to the study of the brain and behavior. Offering degrees at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels, the program integrates diverse topics such as neuroanatomy, genetics, and neural disorders, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of neuroscience. Students benefit from hands-on research opportunities, internships, and the chance to publish and present their findings at conferences, positioning them well for further academic pursuits or careers in neuroscience-related fields.
