It is a Utah corporation which was formed by 10 individuals; Karl Timm, Louis Timm, Floyd Childs, Paul Bennion, Billy Ahlstrom, Dennis Farmer, John Green, John Newland, Tom Kenyon, and Brian Kenyon. The company's original location was on 100 South and 900 West in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1967 the company relocated to its present location in West Valley City, Utah. Louis Timm and Floyd Childs are the last remaining of the original founders that still work for the company. They have, however, entered into semi-retirement and now only work part-time. Their sons, Kevin Childs and Steven Timm currently manage the company.Over the years UNITED PRECISION Machine has specialized in Aerospace machining, making parts for the Space Shuttle, virtually every defense missile program, and aircraft parts. We can machine almost any material including aluminum, steel, plastics, and ceramics. We have machined items for many industries, including; automotive, medical, nuclear, research and development, and even Olympic Bobsled runners which won the Women's Gold Medal at the 2002 Salt lake Winter Olympics.
