Zen Learning Project

History

The Zen Learning Project started in 2012 as Zen Tennis in Austin. It grew in 2013 to incorporate music lessons, after which it was called Zen Tennis and Music. ZLP then formed its popular scholarship program in February of 2014, which donates 20% of profits to the ZLP scholarship fund. This fund is used to teach people who are not financially able to afford lessons. 2016 saw Zen Learning Project take full shape with an emphasis on offering mindfulness-based instruction across a variety of modalities, including tennis, guitar, drums, and even dance! Zen Learning Project partners with Campbell Miller of Austin Social Dance to teach ever-popular dance lessons to individuals and partners of all ages and abilities. Zen Learning Project has continued to develop by offering free weekly tennis lessons in the Dove Springs neighborhood (78744), starting in July, 2017. Stay tuned to learn more!

Specialties

Guitar, drum, and tennis lessons are offered for all ages with an emphasis on mindfulness in the learning process. Travis holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas and is a certified coach through the United States Professional Tennis Association. Lessons are family friendly and take place at either Eastwoods Park or Mendez Middle School (tennis), or at Travis' home residence (music).
