The World's Largest Bowie Knife in Bowie, TX is a monumental attraction that showcases the iconic Texan spirit of "everything is bigger in Texas." Measuring an impressive 20 feet long, with a blade length of 14 feet 5 inches, this steel masterpiece weighs a staggering 3,000 pounds. Officially named the Official Knife of the State of Texas by Governor Abbott, the Bowie Knife Monument is a testament to the rich history and heritage of Bowie, Texas.
Conceived by local rancher and sculptor Bob Hadley, the Bowie Knife Monument was brought to life through the efforts of the Bowie Chamber of Commerce, with major contributions from Bob Brashear and the expertise of Albert Schlabs of ASAP Water Jet Cutting. Visitors have the opportunity to be a part of history by having their names or memorials chiseled in granite tiles or by contributing to the limited number of available benches. In addition to this remarkable attraction, visitors can explore the charming town of Bowie, indulge in local cuisine, shop, and experience the tradition of Bowie Second Mondays Trade Days.
