We love this cozy basement British pub! They've got Old Speckled Hen and London Pride on tap a rare find around here. The bartender is an absolute gem friendly, welcoming, and always up for a good...

Winchester Tavern, located in Fort Worth, TX, was a beloved establishment known as the Black Dog. Founded by Tad Gaither, a colorful character with a penchant for creating a rich cultural atmosphere akin to Greenwich Village dives, the tavern became a hub for poetry and jazz enthusiasts in downtown Fort Worth.
The original Black Dog, with its perpetually smoky interior and out-of-tune piano, exuded a unique charm that attracted a diverse array of performers and patrons. Musicians like Pablo and the Hemphill 7 and Confusatron graced its stage, drawing lively crowds who reveled in the music and poetry nights hosted at the venue.
Despite its eventual closure in 2006, the Black Dog left a lasting legacy in the hearts of many, including loyal employees and regulars. Tad Gaither's vision of a creative sanctuary where good music, poetry, and camaraderie thrived continues to be fondly remembered by those who experienced the magic of the Black Dog.

LOVED THIS PLACE. Visiting from Dallas, so not far, but came across this bar and it was lovely. So many fun halloween decorations and friendly staff. Hope to be back soon!
Went around 3pm on a Sunday, was very empty which we did not mind. Pool tables, darts and shuffleboard and good priced beer had us happy for awhile :) Love the darts area, spacious and very fun!...
Cool below ground level bar. Very cool vibe with friendly efficient staff and a cool outdoor area. Great place for a late nightcap.
Great ambience and amazing bar tender. As soon as we came on a Monday to watch the game felt like at a friend's house with a great drink selection.
