The Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve, formerly known as West 11th Street Park, is a 20-acre urban oasis located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Acquired in 2007, it is the largest tract of native Texas forest inside the I-610 Loop to be added to the City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department's inventory in recent years. With serene wooded trails and a rapidly growing understory, the preserve offers a haven for wildlife and a peaceful escape from urban living.

Visitors to the Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve can enjoy the park's natural assets, including 153 species of birds, a wildflower area, 44 species of butterflies, and over 200 species of plants. The preserve also features a self-guided tour called the Wireless Wilderness, which engages both children and adults with photos, videos, and bird calls accessible on smartphones. With its commitment to preserving the natural habitat and promoting learning and enjoyment, the Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts in Houston.
