About Dr. John S. Michels, MDJohn S. Michels, MD, of Interventional Spine & Pain in Dallas, serving greater Dallas/Ft. Worth, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, and surrounding areas, is a former first-round NFL draft choice and Super Bowl champion with the Green Bay Packers. After an injury ended his football career, he decided to take his experience as a patient and use it to drive his passion as a doctor of interventional pain management.As a result of his road to healing, Dr. Michels possesses a deeper level of empathy and compassion and a new understanding of the complex challenges of pain. Dr. Michels received his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of USC in Los Angeles, where he became a deans list scholar and member of the medical school admissions committee. He then went to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston to complete a residency in diagnostic radiology.Following his residency, Dr. Michels completed an ACGME-accredited, multidisciplinary fellowship in interventional pain management at the University of California, Irvine. Hes now double board-certified in diagnostic radiology and pain medicine.Dr. Michels is recognized by his peers and patients for his compassionate and high-quality medical care.
