Creative Corner

About The Owner Pamela Seale Humphries founded Creative Corner in 1983. In the early 1980's, Pamela set out on a quest to find a child development center in the North Shore area for her own children that was rich in all academic areas, including ; the arts, play, and creativity. To her dismay, she was unsuccessful and found that most programs had strengths in one area but was not well balanced in all areas of a child's education. Ms.Humphries decided to design the program that she dreamed of for her children-a program that would provide her children with the early life experiences that create life long learners. Pamela grew up in the Woodforest community. She went to schools in the Galena Park Independent School District and earned her BA in education from Baylor University with a minor in music. Inspired by her public school teachers, an 11 year old Pamela dreamed of teaching learning disabled children. She fulfilled her dream by becoming a teacher in GPISD when she graduated from Baylor. Ms. Humphries has been a very active member of her community, serving on the board of directors of the Woodforest Civic Association and the San Jacinto College Advisory Board for Child Development. She is a member of the North Channel Chamber of Commerce and has also served as a member of the San Jacinto Pilot Club. She is an active member of South Main Baptist Church downtown. As a result of inspirational ideas, genuine enthusiasm, and a stro ng philosophy in education, Ms. Humphries created an extraordinary school program for young learners. Today, Creative Corner has been operating for over 25 years and has nurtured a lifelong joy for learning in thousands of students in the North Channel area. Pamela is extremely proud of the accomplishments of the Creative Corner alumni as graduates of San Jacinto College, University of Houston, University of Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor University and Rice University just to name a few. Many of the students are highly successful professionals in areas such as banking, education, business, engineering, law, and medicine among others. Pamela's 30 years of experience in the field of education truly reflects her love for children and her desire to see them reach their full potential.
