Utility Consultants & Associates has been writing predominant use studies since 1987. A predominant use study will exempt Texas sales tax on electricity and natural gas. In addition to the utility exemption tax rule 3.295 allows for a refund of up to 4 years. Our utility study fee is based on the scope of work to perform the study and gather all documents required to apply for the refund. You never pay until you receive your refund. Per tax code an engineer must conduct the study. Our engineer has a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering. We've written over 10,000 studies and successfully represented our customers before Texas tax auditors as well as Texas Administrative judges. We've never had a study denied.
