Todd Wilson , MD
Dr. Todd Wilson graduated from the United States Naval Academy and then served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy for six years. He left the Navy as one of the highest decorated officers in his year group to pursue a career in medicine. He attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston (now McGovern Medical School) and then continued at the same school for both his residency in General Surgery and then fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery. Still loving the school, Houston, and the amazing Texas Medical Center, he joined the faculty of the Department of Surgery in an effort to teach others and provide the best, most state of the art care for his patients. His focus is on advanced and minimally invasive surgical therapies for disorders of the gastrointestinal system, metabolic disorders, and the abdominal wall (hernias). He is well known and respected in the surgical community, is an active participant and leader in multiple surgical societies, and has published and presented many times to the national and international community of surgeons. He is a dedicated and devoted teacher and has won numerous accolades including his personal favorite, the chief resident class of 2015, “Resident Advocate.”

Curtis J Wray , MD
Curtis J. Wray, MD, MS, attended the University of Louisville and received an undergraduate degree in chemistry. He received his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1998. Dr. Wray completed the general surgery residency program at the University of Cincinnati in 2005. While at Cincinnati, he received a NIH T32 postdoctoral research fellowship. From 2005-2008, Dr. Wray completed a surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. In 2008, Dr. Wray was appointed assistant professor of surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). His research interests include clinical outcomes for gastrointestinal cancers as well as cancer-related health care disparities. These research efforts have led to 58 peer-reviewed publications. This work led to a successful application and grant funding from the American Cancer Society to investigate clinical outcomes for Hepatocellular Cancer patients. In 2013, Dr. Wray was promoted to associate professor of surgery at UTHealth. He has also recently received a master’s degree in clinical research from UTHealth. Dr. Wray belongs to numerous professional organizations including the Society of Surgical Oncology, American College of Surgeons, American Association of Cancer Research, Society of University Surgeons, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Association for Academic Surgery and the American Hepatico-Pancreatico-Biliary Association. Dr. Wray has served as cancer liaison physician for Harris Health System and was recently appointed to the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. He serves on the Memorial Hermann Integrated Cancer Network and the Memorial Hermann Oncology Service Line. He is past-president of the Houston Surgical Society. Areas of clinical expertise include both open as well as minimally invasive surgery for gastric, liver, pancreas and colorectal cancers. Dr. Wray also performs robotic surgery for GI cancers. In 2018, he started a robotic pancreas surgery program at Memorial Hermann TMC. In June 2019, Dr. Wray and colleagues performed the first robotic whipple (pancreaticoduodenectomy) using the daVinci Xi at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. He also uses daVinci for pancreas, gastric, liver and bile duct and adrenal surgery.
