UT Health San Antonio - Greehey Children's Cancer Research Institute
The Greehey Children's Cancer Research Institute at UT Health San Antonio is one of only two institutes in the United States dedicated exclusively to pediatric cancer research. With 18 laboratories, the institute specializes in cancer genomics, DNA damage, RNA biology, and drug development to create new and less harmful treatments for childhood cancers.
Since its establishment in 2004, the Greehey CCRI has focused on advancing scientific knowledge, understanding the causes of childhood cancer, and accelerating the translation of research into novel therapies. The institute's mission encompasses three key areas: research, clinical application, and education, with aspirations for both national and global impact on childhood cancer treatment and prevention.
