Dallas County Water Control and Improvement District Number Six was established in 1951 by a vote of 61 for and 1 against. After legal advertisement in the "Texas Mesquiter" newspaper, a hearing was held on July 23, 1951, and the Dallas County Commissioners' Court appointed Jack Walden, Howard C. Cantrell, Fred Hanna, H.
