Theater Suburbia is a top notch community theatre for over 50 years that is run completely by volunteers (they have never had a paid employee). Their productions are consistently good.

History
Theatre Suburbia was formed in the summer of 1961 by a neighboorhood group known as the Quandry Players who discovered a mutual passion for theatre while performing You Can't Take It With You at St. Michael Episcopal Church (now Good Hope Episcopal Church). The original playhouse, which we continued to occupy until mid-2008, was located at 1410 W 43rd St. The inaugral production was The Philadelphia Story by Phillip Barry which opened on October 27, 1961. The original seating consisted of small folding chairs, a few of which can still be seen in some of our summer mellerdrammers. Theatre Suburbia has undergone many changes since its inception 49 years ago, the most monumental of which was our relocation in 2008 to our new home at 4106 Way Out West Dr. But throughout the years, the one thing that hasn't changed is our continuing dedication to bringing quality theatre productions to the Houston area. We aim to be home for theatre-lovers for many more years to come.
Specialties
Theatre Suburbia is Northwest Houston's longest running all volunteer playhouse. We are currently celebrating our 49th season and have now produced over 340 shows. Throughout the years, we have endeavored to provide quality, live theatre to the Houston area. We try to reach as many as possible by providing a wide variety of plays as well as the unique sets seen with each show. We are a small theatre, but that only refers to our physical limitations, not the quailty of work we perform. Theatre Suburbia brings seven plays to life on our stage each year, remaining dark for only two weekends between production. Our tickets are very reasonably priced and we offer season ticket packages as well as group rates. Performances run on Fridays and Saturdays for five weekends (six for the mellerdrammer) and include two Sunday matinees (four for the mellerdrammers).

One of the funniest comedies I've seen there! It closed last weekend but I'll definitely go to their next show which opens in early January
The very best shows! Love this ! Always great scripts, marvelous actors, and just plain fun!
I've been coming to this little theater for 20 yrs. for the price it's not a bad experience. The Xmas show 2016 is super cute. It's a good show for the holidays.
I went to a recent performance of Norm Foster's holiday comedy, Ethan Claymore. I'd never heard of the play or Theatre Suburbia, but I was in the mood for the intimacy and charm of a community...
