They both made sure to pass their skills on to their granddaughter. Candy spent the many summers of her youth learning the craft. Big Granny was especially demanding. If the garment was not perfect Candy was made to take all the seams out and start over until the garment met Big Granny's high standards. As upsetting as this was for a child it instilled the character and the attitude that Candy sews with today.
