Opened their first restaurant named: Marini's Empanada House , it was located in between Westheimer and Montrose on 1517 Westheimer. For two decades, the Marini Family grew in business, friends, and fame and were well recognized for their empanadas as being In 1985, on Good Friday, the business located on Westheimer went down in flames. The Marini Family lost everything. Years passed and Marcello with his employment at Telemundo 47 and his wife Pelusa with her beautiful and delicious cakes continued with the same optimistic strength collaborating in many events where the Hispanic presence was needed. But they never forgot that one day, they would open up the same business that made them famous with the help of Houstonians. Today one of their sons, Sergio Alejandro Marini, along with his wife Gabriela, and children, ( Alejandro, Sergio, Gabriela, and Marcello ) has accomplished to continue the dream of his parents in this beautiful City of Katy. Thanks to the help of his siblings Patricia, Debbie, Manuel, and Veronica and the rest of the family during the first few months to get started. The Original Marini's Empanada House. The empanadas have a good amount of filling. The dulce de leche taste very authentic. We prefer the dessert ones but the meat ones are good too. They are fresh and hot as they fry them once you order.

Passing through we always like to scout out good eats. We saw this featured in DDD with Guy Fieri. This place did not disappoint and exceeded our expectations. We had a total of 17 empanadas...

So good. Personally love the Chicken Pot Pie and BBQ Empanadas. Mom tip...these are absolutely fabulous to pack in your kids lunches! They can easily pop them in the microwave at school. My kids...

This place has the best empanadas in Texas. I have tried others, tried making them at home but nothing hits the spot like these. Im not a fan of sides and wouldn't bother ordering them - I guess...
