Excellent food and friendly service. Steaks and burgers are delicious. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is lovely. This is one of my families favorite places.

The Chophouse offers a casual and vibrant dining experience in a beautiful historic building on the square in downtown historic Mount Vernon. We provide prime steaks, fresh seafood, pastas, fresh vegetables and deserts all brought in fresh from local providers when available. There is also a large selection of fine wines, a full bar, and the largest selection of bourbons in Northeast Texas. We offer seating in the dining room, bar NEAT, and a beautiful outdoor patio.

Phenomenal. I got the medallions with carrots and mash potatoes but they called me back as the sweet out. Double mash me please and boy am I favored it was delicious. That little sauce on there...

Great appetizers and nice steaks. Service was good but could have been better on a (slow) weekday night. Be sure to have a chocolate martini for dessert! Overall a solid evening.
