The Texas State Railroad Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of a 29-mile long railroad in Anderson and Cherokee Counties of East Texas, as well as the communities it served and the connecting railroads.

With a diverse membership, the society aims to enhance the visitor experience of the Texas State Railroad and its surrounding environment, while also engaging in conservation, restoration, historical research, and other activities related to railroading. Through their projects and initiatives, the Texas State Railroad Society strives to promote and celebrate the history and significance of this iconic railroad.
