J.C. Brigham founded Pecan Deluxe Candy Company in 1950. Brigham was in the retail ice cream business. He hired a man to make ice cream and also make candy to put in the ice cream. The company then began selling ice cream flavorings to other companies. J.C. Brigham died in 1965 and his son, Bennie Brigham, began running the company. Bennie Brigham was a food science graduate of Texas Tech University.
