The Texas Department of Public Safety is a full-service, statewide government agency that preserves peace, order and safety. It operates criminal law enforcement, drivers license and highway safety divisions, as well as maintains a public safety commission. The department performs investigations in cases of burglary, murder, missing persons, juvenile crime, sexual offenses, identity theft, forgery, traffic violations and drug abuse.
