Texas Challenge Academy Recruiting
The Texas Challenge Academy is a tuition-free educational program sponsored by the Texas National Guard, offering a 5 1/2-month residential academy for at-risk youth aged 16 to 18 who are disengaged from school. With a mission to reclaim the potential of these young individuals, the academy provides academic instruction, structure, and discipline to help them develop personal accountability and become successful adults.
Through education, training, mentoring, and service to the community, the Texas Challenge Academy aims to be recognized as the state's premier program for the alternative education of at-risk youth and high school dropouts. With a military-style training environment, the academy offers opportunities for high school credit recovery, G.E.D. attainment, and even the possibility of earning a high school diploma. It is not affiliated with the Texas Juvenile Justice Department and does not have any military obligations for its students.
