Friendly and Respectful. Treated like a customer, not a mark, as some others do.

These people are nice to work with, but terrible about wearing masks. Even if they do, they keep taking them off constantly so they might as well not wear them.

Art and Frame, etc., is a family owned Custom Frame Shop specializing in Sports Memorabilia and Corporate and Commercial Framing. In addition, we have a large showroom of gifts for every occasion in our Gift Cottage.Art and Frame, etc. was established in October of 1990. Randy and Paula Akin decided it was time to try something different in life. They purchased a small frame shop in Inwood Forest. They began to build a custom frame shop that was unlike any other. Paula added gift items to the shop, while Randy sought out companies that did a small amount of framing. Their philosophy was to go after a lot of companies that did a little bit framing. This combination proved successful for many years. Around the late '90's they decided to go after some of the major sports teams in Houston. Success came with their work being found on the walls of the Toyota Center and Reliant Stadium. Their creative ideas for framing sports jerseys and memorabilia have taken them into the sports and entertainment field ; where now, their clients aren't just corporations, but professional athletes.Paula retired in 2004 and they decided to bring one of their sons into the business. Mike Welsch has replaced Paula. Mike brings to the table 14 years of retail experience. He was a District Manager for the largest retailer in the world. He is always focused on customer satisfaction and exceeding the expectations of his customers. Between Randy and Mike, they will continue to take the business to a new level and always deliver the best service possible to their customers.
