Stonewall is a census-designated place (CDP) in Gillespie County, Texas, United States. The population was 469 at the 2000 census. It was named for Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson, by Israel P. Nunez, who established a stage station near the site in 1870.

Stonewall is the birthplace and deathplace of former U.S. President Lyndon Johnson, and his LBJ Ranch (much of which is now the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park) is located nearby.

On December 15, 1847, a petition was submitted to create Gillespie County. In 1848, the legislature formed Gillespie County from Bexar and Travis counties.

Nearby cities include Fredericksburg, Johnson City, Blanco.
