Powell received God's divine commission to shepherd a body of believers. The preparation for this great appointment to plant a church took root when 'Pastor Powell accepted his call into the ministry. The time that he labored as a youth pastor helped to equip him for the vision that he had received. Bathed with countless hours of prayer and meditation, Pastor Powell set in motion the planting of The Called Fellowship Baptist Church on September 17, 2.000. The birth of The Called Fellowship Baptist Church was witnessed by seventeen members and eleven friends. Church Colors church colors are gold and crimson. The gold represents the deity of the Godhead, the father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (the Holy Trinity), eternally exiting in three persons, equally eternal, equally powerful, equally glorious, and equally God. The crimson represents the shed blood of our Savior Jesus Christ.
