The Community Council of Southwest Texas, also known as CCSWT, is a private, nonprofit organization that offers a range of human services. Established in 1965, it serves the residents of Dimmit, Edwards, Kinney, La Salle, Real and Zavala counties in Texas. The organization administers transportation, Head Start, elderly nutrition and family planning programs. The Community Council of Southwest Texas Head Start program includes child development, educational, nutritional, psychological, mental health and family support services for low-income children and families. It offers public education through the Gabriel Tafolla Charter School District. The organization also conducts various housing, emergency food and shelter programs. The Community Council of Southwest Texas maintains its administrative office in Uvalde, Texas.
