Since 1988, South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center Inc. has been supporting Lubbock and South Plains wildlife. Based in Lubbock, Texas, it works towards the preservation of native species of the South Plains of Texas. All the displaced, orphaned and injured wild animals brought to the center receive food, shelter and medical care. After the required treatment, the animal or bird is free to go back into the wild. South Wildlife Rehabilitation Center Inc. has an internship program with Texas Tech University, Lubbock High School and Estacado High School for preveterinary students.

The SPWRC is a critical resource in the Lubbock area and I absolutely love what they do. They are a 501(c)(3) funded by donations alone, not to mention supported by countless hours of volunteer...
