From a pioneer East Texas family with land ownership since 1890 in the Flint Area just out of Tyler. He is a lifelong resident of Smith County, Member of Greater Tyler Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Graduate Realtors Institute, Smith County Farm and Ranch Club, Hollytree Country Club, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and lifetime member of American Quarter Horse Association, and Chairman of Banking Committee at First Baptist Church. He served as a Board Member of Greater Tyler Association of Realtors from 2002 to 2005, and Smith County Farm and Ranch Club.
