History

Simar Seafood Cocina began as an idea of Lupe Barragan of Casa Chapala and Corina Barragan eldest daughter of Lupe and Lucina Barragan to bring a tasty variety of seafoods with a unique Mexican twist to the people of Austin. The Barragans love of the beach helped create a modest and breezy relaxing atmosphere complete with palapa on the patio and signature tentacle lights that pay homage to the restaurants signature dish Pulpo a la Parrilla. The unique atmosphere and plates make for an inviting gathering spots for locals, this family friendly spot also has an indoor kids room for little guests to unwind while parents enjoy a drink from the bar.

Specialties

Our specialties range from spicy aguachiles and ceviches to tender grilled octopus to succulent shimp and savory fish zarandeado. We also offer a full bar with fresh cocktails and local beer and spirits.
