History

In May 1980, Kate established her own practice in downtown Arlington after working two years at a CPA firm and in previous years as a registered nurse. Mikel Shelton began working with Kate that year while attending Baylor University. In 2004, Mikel left his position as Director of Audit at Burlington Northern Santa Fe and joined Kate as a partner. Daniel Mead began practicing public accounting in October 1980 in downtown Arlington. Prior to this, he served as an IRS field agent for the Dallas District for seven years and as an internal auditor for an oil company for two years. Mikel Shelton and his mother Kate Shelton joined with Daniel Mead in January 2007 at the firm's current location on East Abram in downtown Arlington. Since then Shelton, Mead & Shelton has grown to over 11 employees and continues to exceed expectations and meet clients' needs with the same personalized service and expertise the partners practiced for over 30 years.
