Seyed Tabatabai, MD

Sumana Basu, MD, FAAFP, MBA, earned her Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine in 2015. She then completed the Memorial Hermann Family Medicine Residency Program in 2018. Dr. Basu also holds an MBA with a focus in Healthcare Administration from Texas Women's University. She joined Kelsey-Seybold in February 2024. Patients see Dr. Basu for acute issues like a sports injury, cough and cold, and rashes. She also treats chronic issues like hypertension, diabetes, osteoarthritis, obesity, and thyroid issues. She also sees patients of all ages for wellness and preventive visits. In her practice, Dr. Basu provides patients with the latest management and treatment plans backed by medical evidence.

Kelsey-Seybold's Upper Kirby Clinic offers comprehensive primary and specialty care for adults and children. Kelsey-Seybold Clinic - Upper Kirby is located inside the loop at the corner of W. Alabama Street and Kirby Drive near Kelsey-Seybold's Spencer R. Berthelsen Main Campus. Patients will have access to on-site services such as laboratory and X-ray, as well as Family Medicine and Pediatrics. Upper Kirby will have space for up to 18 providers with plans to expand specialties in Dermatology, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, Orthopedics, Optometry, and more. Patients also have an extensive referral network of neighboring clinics, including Berthelsen Main Campus, River Oaks Clinic, Rice Village Clinic OB/GYN, and West University Clinic.

Laure Patterson, MD, earned her medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine in 2021, graduating as the salutatorian of her class. She went on to complete her pediatric internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine, finishing in 2024. Dr. Patterson's clinical interests include nutrition and breastfeeding, and is dedicated to providing comprehensive, preventive care. Pediatric medicine allows her to combine her passion for science with her commitment to helping children thrive. She brings a holistic approach to emphasizing preventive care and comprehensive support for healthy growth and development. Dr. Patterson joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in October 2024.
