I recommend San Pedro Springs Pool. Really nice large free to public pool. Operating hours are only in afternoons and early evenings, but otherwise a great place to cool off.

Immediately no. The grass is overgrown and the spring pool is filled with algae. I would not bring kids or dogs here.
