Headwaters at Incarnate Word is a non-profit nature sanctuary situated in the heart of San Antonio, dedicated to conservation and education. The 53-acre sanctuary is home to the Blue Hole, the source spring of the San Antonio River, and welcomes both pedestrians and leashed pets.
As an Earthcare ministry of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, Headwaters offers various volunteer opportunities, events, and programs that engage the community with nature. Visitors can also explore the sanctuary virtually and learn about its history and mission through organized visits and birding events.
