A native Houstonian, Dr. Barrientos graduated with honors from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Science. He obtained his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas at Houston in the Texas Medical Center. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine, as well as a Fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Texas at Houston & MD Anderson Cancer Center.
