Following medical school, Dr. Yium completed two years of general surgery training at Parkland Memorial Hospital. He then completed his Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas before moving to Austin to start private practice. Dr. Yium was elected into the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha, in 1997. He is a member of the Travis County Medical Society and the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and is Board Certified in otolaryngology.
