Robber Baron Cave Preserve, located in San Antonio, TX, is a significant karst resource protecting one of the longest known caves in Bexar County with 5340 feet of mapped passages. Originally a tourist attraction in the early 1900s, the cave is now managed by TCMA to preserve its unique biology, geology, and history while offering educational opportunities for visitors to experience the underground environment.
This extensive maze cave features a large sinkhole entrance, a complex network of passages, and is home to blind invertebrate species found nowhere else on Earth. With a rich history dating back to the 1920s, Robber Baron Cave Preserve invites the public to join Friends of Robber Baron or donate to support the ongoing conservation efforts of this remarkable natural treasure.
