Gene Rich & Co

What is Gene Rich & Company Gene Rich & Co., Inc is a family owned & operated reseller which has been providing plumbing specialty items to the jobber since 1952. We operate from a 20, 000 sq. ft. warehouse located at 2525 Ludelle Street in Fort, TX 76105 Worth Gene Rich & Co. History While working for his father-in-law at Dewitt Harber & Company in 1952, Edwin Eugene Rich founded Gene Rich & Company as the first plumbing specialty distributor of it's type in the south central United States. The company consisted of Edwin "Gene" Rich, a typewriter, mailing list and $2, 000 in initial inventory. Through "Eager Beaver Service" to his customers, and commitment to provide only quality products, Gene and the company continued to grow and incorporated in 1976. Gene remained active as the company's Chairman and CEO until he passed away in February 1997. His contributions to our industry, his business and his family will be sorely missed. He was a man of high ethical and moral standards and his integrity and honesty was undisputed by those who knew him. All of us at Gene Rich & Company will strive to honor his memory with the same high standards and service. Between 1952 and 1987, Magaret Rich, Gene's wife of 53 years, put her talents in graphic arts to use producing all of the company's catalogs and other literature. In 1972, Dan Quattrochi began work in all phases of the business. In the early days, ( before computers ), Dan worked as bookeeper, in-house salesperson, order entry clerk, invoicing and inventory control. Today, Dan serves as Vice President and Purchasing Agent with many duties outside the realm of purchasing. Gene's son, Alan, after many summers in the warehouse came on full time in 1981 as an order entry clerk. During the 80's he wrote and customized the company's business applications. In 1994, he took over as president of the company and continues to maintain the technological resources of the business. Today, our commitment to providing quality products and superior service to our business partners continues and is central to our mission.
