The Hermann Sons holds the OLDEST beer license in San Antonio, and the 2nd oldest in Texas! The nostalgic bar is simple and has been the home of the Hermann Sons Fraternal organization and 8 of its lodges for over 100 years. Known for its low beer prices and low key atmosphere, the Hermann Sons Rathskeller bar closed to the public a few years ago, but will be reopening in April 2016!

The Rathskeller is a place simply to hang out and enjoy a beer or wine with friends! Since 1937, patrons have been sitting in the bar, enjoying the very low beer prices. The bar is located in the historic Hermann Sons Home Association building, and is a great spot for happy hour or to enjoy the company of locals and friends

I felt like I stepped right out of the Delorean back in time. This bar does hold the oldest beer license I. San Antonio and they do use it well. Lots of cold ones to quench your thirst. Great vibe...
