Dr. Ziad Amr is a highly skilled and fellowship trained General and Bariatric surgeon. He attended the University Of Jordan Medical School, and graduated in the top 10% of his class. Dr. Amr completed his general surgery residency training from 2002-2007 at The Methodist Hospital at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. While in training, Dr. Amr gained extensive experience in general surgery procedures. He was awarded intern of the year in 2002 and resident of the year in 2005 by his colleagues in residency and became the administrative chief resident in 2007. Dr. Leiva is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, the Mexican Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Ayyar obtained a bachelor of science degree in biology from Baylor University and received his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas. Dr. Ayyar completed his five-year residency curriculum in surgery at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas in 1999 with an emphasis in minimally invasive surgery.
