Dr. Krishna Pancham

Dr. Pancham is the first physician in his family. Being the oldest amongst many cousins growing up together, he was always the responsible big brother tending to the younger ones in the family. Dr. Pancham completed his medical school at Nilratan Sircar Medical College, one of eastern India's oldest and prestigious medical institutions, and moved to Philadelphia for his residency training in Pediatrics. His interactions and mentoring from the pediatric pulmonologists at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia inspired him to become a pulmonologist and pursue his fellowship training at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Before coming to Cook Children’s Hospital, Dr. Pancham was on faculty at Kentucky Children’s Hospital, the University of KY, where he lead the pediatric pulmonary research and served as the director of the bronchoscopy program. His clinical interests include chronic lung disease of prematurity, pediatric neuromuscular disorder, airway anomalies, cystic fibrosis and severe asthma. He has published research on viral airway inflammation in premature babies and in asthma and has received the Henry Christian Young Investigator Award from the American Federation for Medical Research in 2015.​ Dr. Pancham believes in family integrated care - taking care of the child as well as the family as a unit which is one of the priorities at Cook Children’s Hospital. The resilience of children and the trust families place in him inspires him to excel in the care of his patients. In his free time, Dr. Pancham enjoys cooking and traveling with his wife and two daughters.
