Pta Texas Congress
The Texas PTA, formed in 1970 through the merger of the Texas Congress of Mothers and the Texas Congress of Colored Parents and Teachers, has a rich history of advocating for children's education and family engagement. With nearly 500,000 members and over 2,200 local PTAs, it stands as the second-largest state PTA in the nation, dedicated to empowering families and communities to support every child's potential.
For over 116 years, the Texas PTA has worked tirelessly to improve public education and foster better communities across the state. By engaging families and advocating for all children, the organization continues to build on the vision set forth by its founders, Ella Caruthers Porter and Willa S. Benton.
