Founded in 1967, the Region 5 Education Service Center serves more than 30 school districts that represent over 80,000 students in southeastern Texas. It maintains educational technology and media divisions. The center offers a range of instructional services, such as guidance counseling, administrative leadership, and behavior and classroom management. The Region 5 Education Service Center administers a career and technology education educator certification program. It serves school districts in Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson Orange, Newton and Tyler counties in Texas. The center also provides child nutrition, physical education, emergency management and food solutions. The Region 5 Education Service Center conducts several workshops.
