History

In 1983, MicroSearch launched as a full-service software dealer, one of the largest in the Greater Houston Area. Shortly thereafter, MicroSearch focused in on the expansive Amiga line and quickly became the largest Amiga dealer in the Southeast Region. Among the early accomplishments, MicroSearch developed and released the first desktop publishing program in the world, 'City Desk', the first texture mapping application for still photographs and the first football simulation game. Ground-breaking achievements would continue as the hallmark for MicroSearch from past through present. In 1989, when Orion Pictures' Robocop 2 filmed in and around Houston, the production called upon MicroSearch for custom-built computers to aid in the development of several of the film's CGI sequences. Other achievements, such as the development of the Digital Storm edit solution and robust support of HDSLR cinematography have fueled MicroSearch's expansion.
