Prada Marfa is a permanent land art installation created by artists Elmgreen & Dragset, commissioned by the Art Production Fund and Ballroom Marfa. Modeled after a Prada boutique, the sculpture features luxury goods from the brand's fall 2005 collection, situated on a remote stretch of highway near Valentine, Texas.
Since its establishment on October 1, 2005, Prada Marfa has become a significant cultural landmark, never intended for commercial use as its door remains locked. The installation reflects the intersection of art and commerce while serving as a unique point of interest in the West Texas landscape.
