Otto's Barbecue & Hamburgers, a cherished Houston institution, has been serving authentic, country-style food since 1951 when it was founded by Otto and Annie Sofka. What began as a grocery store on Memorial Drive evolved into a bustling eatery known for its exceptional food and "standing room only" atmosphere.

With a commitment to old family recipes and scratch cooking, Otto's has maintained its legacy through three generations. The menu features Certified Angus burgers ground fresh daily and briskets slow-smoked over hickory logs for 18 hours, ensuring a taste of tradition in every bite.

Over the years, Otto's has welcomed notable guests like President George Bush and George Foreman, but it is their loyal patrons who are truly cherished. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a decades-long fan, Otto's Barbecue & Hamburgers invites you to savor a dining experience that blends time-honored traditions with classic country cooking.

These are the sweetest people. I love this place. They kept us going during Covid when nothing was open. They fed us. They wake up so early in the morning to make us breakfast and lunch....

Great service! Always friendly, fast, and great food. Love the Swiss Avocado burger and the breakfast tacos are a great morning staple/value.
