History

I've always been an artist, but since our move to the Davis Mountains in 2005, I've been privileged to be able to paint full time. My working fine art studio, open by appointment, sits at 6000 feet across from elite Old Spanish Trail Gallery, where I am the Artist-in-Residence. A gallery visit offers visitors a glimpse at a working ranch as well as my working studio, with paintings still on the easel, unframed originals and sometimes, a wall of framed fine art ready to go to a gallery or exhibit. I've been featured in the nationally-aired 2016 PBS documentary Western Perspectives, awarded Best of Show in prestigious museum exhibits, published in Texas Traditions, Contemporary Artists of the Lone Star State by art historian Michael Duty and Southwest Art editor Susan Hallsten McGarry. But my focus is on painting, and on personally showing my art to collectors and anyone who loves nature and the raw beauty of the high desert.

Specialties

Original southwest landscape paintings, skyscapes and wildlife art filled with the silent beauty of Far West Texas ranchland and Big Bend National Park. Fort Davis artist Lindy Cook Severns also creates uniquely hand-repainted prints as affordable wall art, and fine art notecards suitable for framing.
