Northside Independent School

The Northside Independent School District, governs more than 100 elementary, middle and high educational institutions, as well as serves students in kindergarten through grade 12. Also known as NISD, the district has an enrollment of over 85,500 students. Its schools curricula include reading, math, English, language arts, writing, social studies and science. The Northside Independent School District governs child nutrition, purchasing, special education, transportation and human resources departments. Its schools offer a variety of athletic activities, such as football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, golf, and track and field. The district s schools maintain parent-teacher associations and booster clubs. The Northside Independent School District operates Colonies North Elementary School, Sam Rayburn Middle School and John Marshall High School.
