In 1989, the mother/daughter team of Jaye Congleton and Rebecca Congleton Boenigk recognized an opportunity to manufacture and distribute Dr. Jerome Congleton's concept for a seating system that would support the body s neutral posture, a concept discovered by NASA. Working from their garage, the Congletons were able to raise enough working capital to start Neutral Posture, which is the only woman-owned seating manufacturer in the United States. The company s extensive line of office and casual seating chairs supports the body with pressure-reducing contours and custom-fitting adjustments. Neutral Posture has grown to become an international company with numerous award winning, patented products and facilities in Bryan, Texas and Ontario, Canada.
