The Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection, in partnership with the Teresa Lozano Long Institute for Latin American Studies (LLILAS), is a renowned global destination for research and study. With over a million volumes and a wealth of original manuscripts, photographs, and various media, the Benson Collection focuses on Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and the Latina/Latino presence in the United States.
The collection features rare books, manuscripts, and digital initiatives that provide access to primary sources from and about Latin America, U.S. Latinas/Latinos, and the African diaspora. Through collaborations and scholarly projects, the Benson Collection documents the heritage of Latin American, U.S. Latinx, African Diasporic, and Indigenous American communities.
